She's a Brick House

Last Saturday they were laying brick. Our craggy mountain brick looks quite lovely.

Another Predrywall Visit

We snuck into the house a few Saturdays ago to inspect. The tub wasn't in just yet.

Before too long, our house will look very similar to the finished brick at the end of this post!

Concrete

I took this picture last week on a drive-by while I was in Fredericksburg to meet with a genealogy guy. (Can you spot my shadow?). The following weekend, I stopped by again to take a look and the concrete was painted black. Hubbs tells me this is all part of the sealing and energy efficiency. I have no clue. But it's exciting!

And They're Off

We met with the Project Manager this week to go through all of our selections. He told us they'd start to dig this week...and dig they did!

Here's the footprint, taken Saturday, December 1st. Just behind the house will be a group of trees where no one will build. Hubbs will have to work on some crafty landscaping to complement the tree line and block out the neighbors' houses!
